Manager Digital Experience
North Bay Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, curious, creative and flexible individual with excellent digital skills and experience for the position of Manager Digital Experience.
Position Summary:
• configures and manages the efficient operation of the Integrated Library System, including application performance, administration, maintenance, and upgrades to meet library requirements.
• works with vendors for ongoing maintenance, development, and support concerning features and functions the library requires to maintain or enhance service.
• maintains interfaces between the library’s integrated library system and 3rd – party products, computer reservation systems, and web-based applications that require authentication from the customer database.
• produces regular and on-demand system management, circulation, and statistical reports for the library including those required for annual Ontario ministry mandated public library statistics
• manages client facing digital services and products, including e-books, databases, library web presence and social media
• works collaboratively with NBPL management team, city of North Bay IT team
• directs digital services workflow of program and promotion staff in adult and children sections, cooperatively with the Adult and Children unit managers
• serves as manager in charge of the library in rotation with managers, 1 evening weekly and biweekly Saturdays
• serves as back-up to manager of Administrative Services for HR and payroll support functions
• other duties as assigned
• 35 hour FT
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, MLIS preferred
- Three years relevant digital leadership with management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Integrated Library Systems (ILS) and digital content management platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of library technology and related software and hardware including infrastructure and website management.
- Experience troubleshooting technology in a library environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills and mature judgment.
- Experience with Evergreen integrated library system an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency in: Office Suite (Intermediate), Email (Advanced), Web(Advanced), Mobile Devices and Apps (Intermediate), ILS (advanced), Social Media (Intermediate), Scanning, Printing (Intermediate)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, self-starter, able to function well in a busy environment, with ability and flexibility to manage multiple tasks/priorities
Compensation: $75,000 – $78,000 annually; benefits package.
