As the Manager, Prospect Research and Data Analytics, you’ll provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for seasoned professional researchers. You’ll drive information synthesis, data analytics, and reporting strategies that uncover meaningful insights about donors, prospects, alumni, and partners—ultimately fueling Carleton’s mission to grow, thrive, and lead.

This role is more than just data and research—it’s about building relationships that matter. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across campus and beyond, from local partners to global collaborators, to enhance alumni connections, inspire donor support, and strengthen Carleton’s reputation on the world stage.

Whether developing data-driven insights, optimizing processes, or providing forward-thinking thought leadership in prospect research, your work will directly contribute to advancing Carleton University’s mission.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven expertise in prospect research, data analytics, and reporting
  • 5+ years of management experience in a unionized, collaborative environment
  • Advanced academic background—Master’s degree required (MLIS preferred)
  • A strong track record of leading with strategy, innovation, and impact

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of Advancement leadership concepts and practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
  • Expert knowledge of prospect research
  • Expert knowledge of fundraising data systems and Advancement Services as well as data analytics
  • Demonstrated knowledge in leveraging Microsoft tools for productivity, databases and reporting systems, AI tools, Enterprise platforms, and wide range of technology devices to drive operational excellence
  • Knowledge of donor and other funder relations best practices, program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
  • Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of DUA as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
  • Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
  • Knowledge in synthesizing multiple sources and priorities to make decisions
