Job Summary
We are looking for temporary help with the cataloguing of Hebrew-language material. This will be an ongoing part-time job over the next five years.
Description
LWRC needs to have the title of the item (books) entered into a MARC record, in Hebrew, and then entered again in the transliterated form. As well, we are looking for the candidate to note whether the item is fiction or non-fiction, and to give us some relevant subject headings.
You will be working from home and will need to be able to pick up boxes of books and deliver them back to us. You will need a computer and the ability to work with spreadsheets, or preferably, MARCEdit.
Ideally, you should have experience with MARC records and have some basic knowledge of subject headings. Experienced cataloguers will have the opportunity to take on more work full-time. But right now, we are in need of someone with Hebrew language skills.
Rate of Pay
$3 per item. If the successful candidate can perform more of the MARC record cataloguing, the rate will increase.
Hours of Work:
You will set your own hours. Our hope is that the work will take less than a week.
