In this key leadership role, you&#8217;ll shape the future of public library services by leading teams responsible for collections, programming, community engagement, information services, and access services. You&#8217;ll champion exceptional customer experiences, foster innovation, and ensure our services continue to meet the evolving needs of the Greater Sudbury community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Manager of Access and Engagement, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide strategic leadership for the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of public library services.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and develop a diverse team in a unionized environment, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee Collections Services, Programming and Community Engagement, Information Services, and Access Services.<\/li>\n<li>Champion GSPL&#8217;s patron experience model to ensure outstanding, human-centred customer service.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement annual business plans aligned with the library\u2019s strategic priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Lead organizational projects and contribute to capital planning and service innovation.<\/li>\n<li>Manage contracts, budgets, and operational resources while ensuring effective stewardship of public funds.<\/li>\n<li>Build strong partnerships with City departments, community organizations, and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Librarian, Administration Team, and Library Board.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor emerging trends in library services and implement innovative approaches that enhance community access and engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Bring<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master&#8217;s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from a recognized Canadian-accredited university.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of five (5) years of progressive library experience, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated success leading teams, managing change, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of public library operations, applicable legislation, project management, and service delivery best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing budgets, contracts, and organizational initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>French language skills are considered a strong asset.<\/li>\n<li>A valid Class G driver&#8217;s licence with an acceptable driving record and the ability to provide a Criminal Record Check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Join Us<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the Greater Sudbury Public Library, you&#8217;ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on one of the community&#8217;s most valued public services.
