Our mission is simple: to create engaging content, connect with audiences wherever they are, and drive meaningful growth. <br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Guided by our values\u2014Think Boldly, Make a Positive Impact, Win as a Team, and Own the Outcome\u2014we bring creativity and collaboration to everything we do.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>If you\u2019re ready to make an impact, there\u2019s a place for you at Corus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division:<\/strong>\u00a0Global News Durham<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Status:<\/strong> Full-time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Durham, ON (On-site)<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Global Durham is currently seeking a full-time Videographer to join the news team.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the News Director, the successful candidate will be required to generate engaging content for broadcast and online, primarily on weekdays and can include evenings and weekends.<\/p>\n<p>This is a Group 3 position under the current collective agreement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will contribute by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generating, and pitching original story ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Chasing, writing, shooting, producing, and editing original news stories for Global Durham broadcast and globalnews.ca while meeting multiple daily deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Posting updates online as a story is being developed.<\/li>\n<li>Creatively using production graphics and other visual elements to enhance storytelling.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing and maintaining a network of news contacts throughout the Durham region.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and experience you will bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous work experience in broadcast and online journalism.<\/li>\n<li>Post-secondary education in Broadcast Journalism, or related field.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and storytelling skills.<\/li>\n<li>Camera experience and familiarity with non-linear editing.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to adapt to changing technology and workflows.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to effectively solve problems and troubleshooting while dealing with the unexpected.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle the demands and pressure of tight deadlines and breaking news.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability as a team player with a positive attitude.<\/li>\n<li>Great communication and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Valid class \u201cG\u201d driver\u2019s license with clean driving abstract.<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every day, we work hard to become an even more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace that supports the well-being of our people and makes a positive difference in our communities.
