Together, we\u00a0can make things right for our communities, our\u00a0planet\u00a0and our future.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>York University Libraries&#8217; Content Development and Acquisitions Department oversees the acquisition and processing of content and distinctive collections that support curricular and research needs at York\u00a0University.\u00a0Reporting\u00a0to the Associate Dean, Research and Open Scholarship, the <strong>Collections and Acquisitions Manager<\/strong> is responsible for the effective planning and leadership, day to day management and supervision of staff within the Content Development and Acquisitions Department, including collections maintenance, acquisitions, and accessibility services. The Manager works collaboratively with the Content Development &amp; Analysis team to acquire materials, facilitate access to collections, assess collections, provide statistical information as required and evaluate and establish standards, workflows, procedures and policies that ensure effective operations of the Department. The Manager also works collaboratively with the Archives &amp; Special Collections team to oversee staff, facilitate the hiring of staff in collaboration with archivists, and facilitate the maintenance and continuity of public service standards, workflows, procedures and policies drawing on the expertise of subject specialists. The role works in close partnership with academic and administrative leaders to determine operational priorities and manages daily activities of Library staff. The role leads and maintains an effective collaborative performance culture. The role is aligned to the vision, mission, values, and strategic direction of the University and supports York&#8217;s commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors degree in relevant discipline.\u00a0Note: Position requires verification of degree(s)\/credential(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years related experience.<\/li>\n<li>4 years in acquisitions and\/or serials, including some cataloguing or descriptive bibliographic experience.<\/li>\n<li>3 years of management\/ supervisory experience.<\/li>\n<li>Budget planning, financial\u00a0accounting\u00a0and forecasting experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Archives and special collections as well as collections maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with digitization processes and workflows as well as providing support to persons with disabilities in a post-secondary environment.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with large software applications such as procurement, integrated library records\u00a0management\u00a0and\/or human resource systems.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Library acquisitions management.<\/li>\n<li>Effective knowledge of Canadian copyright processes and legislation.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of workforce planning, budgeting and\u00a0financial management, process\u00a0improvement\u00a0and change management.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of managing in a unionized environment and applying a collective agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of how to provide support to individuals with disabilities in a post-secondary environment.<\/li>\n<li>Effective knowledge of AODA.
