Our mission is simple: to create engaging content, connect with audiences wherever they are, and drive meaningful growth. <br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Guided by our values\u2014Think Boldly, Make a Positive Impact, Win as a Team, and Own the Outcome\u2014we bring creativity and collaboration to everything we do.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>If you\u2019re ready to make an impact, there\u2019s a place for you at Corus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division<\/strong>: Global News \u2013 National Morning News (TMS 2 )<br \/><strong>Work Status<\/strong>: Full-time<br \/><strong>Location:<\/strong> Corus Quay &#8211; Toronto, ON (On-site)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Be part of an innovative, multi-platform newsroom delivering impactful journalism.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Global News is seeking two full-time ENG (Video) Editors for the Morning Show based in Toronto.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Executive Producer, TMS &amp; Entertainment, you will contribute to the creation of compelling visual content for audiences across multiple markets and platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The role is primarily early morning but could include shift work as required.<\/p>\n<p>This position is designated as Group 2 under the current collective agreement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will contribute by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edit video and audio into engaging content for entertainment, news, current affairs, and special programming across multiple platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Work both independently and collaboratively to produce creative, technically accurate content with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with producers on rundowns, scripts, and audio\/visual requirements across various formats and sources.<\/li>\n<li>Re-edit, enhance, and package incoming feeds, FTP content, affiliate material, and shared resources for multi-market use.<\/li>\n<li>Apply advanced effects techniques (e.g., packaging multi-cam shoots, blurring, pixelation, voice alteration, time-lapse, zoom, layering, highlighting footage).<\/li>\n<li>Develop and integrate graphic and packaging elements as required.<\/li>\n<li>Use graphic systems (e.g., Xpression) to manage templates, supers, banners, and full-frame visuals.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize news production systems, including rundowns, scripting, and timing workflows.<\/li>\n<li>Source and recommend visuals that enhance storytelling.<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain stock reels for future use.<\/li>\n<li>Publish content and abstracts to websites and other social platforms<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of journalistic standards and newsroom practices.<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; experience you will bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-secondary education in broadcast technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years\u2019 experience with non-linear editing tools (e.g., Grass Valley Edius, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).<\/li>\n<li>Creative storyteller with a willingness to innovate and experiment in a digital news environment.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable and comfortable navigating evolving technologies and media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of social media tools and digital distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative team player who contributes positively to team dynamics.<\/li>\n<li>Highly motivated with a positive attitude and openness to feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflict constructively.<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When applying- please provide a demo of your work, portfolio with links.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every day, we work hard to become an even more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace that supports the well-being of our people and makes a positive difference in our communities.
