{"id":6946,"date":"2026-05-07T14:33:31","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T18:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobweb.fims.uwo.ca\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=6946"},"modified":"2026-05-07T15:01:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T19:01:04","slug":"blyth-festival-blyth-on-hybrid-16-marketing-assistant-temporary-contract","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobweb.fims.uwo.ca\/index.php\/job\/blyth-festival-blyth-on-hybrid-16-marketing-assistant-temporary-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Marketing Assistant (Temporary Contract)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Job Title: Marketing Assistant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Blyth Festival<\/strong> is currently seeking a candidate to fill the seasonal position of Marketing Assistant.<\/p>\n<p>This seasonal contract position is supported by Canada Summer Jobs.<br \/>In 2026, our 52nd season will feature a repertory season of five Canadian plays (including four world premieres).<\/p>\n<p>Blyth Festival productions take place in two venues in the village of Blyth, Ontario:<br \/>The Margaret Stephens Stage at Blyth Memorial Hall, a municipally owned 379-seat indoor theatre, and the<br \/>Harvest Stage \u2013 a permanent, purpose-built outdoor theatre, seating 348 people, surrounded by trees and playing to audiences under the Huron County skies.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1975, the Blyth Festival has developed and produced original Canadian theatre. Each summer, the Festival draws audiences from across Ontario and beyond, making Blyth a genuine cultural destination \u2014and marketing that experience is central to everything we do.<\/p>\n<p>We are a small, mission-driven team that believes in the power of community connection and storytelling. We&#8217;re looking for an emerging digital marketer who shares that belief and is ready to contribute meaningfully to a busy summer season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with the Director of Marketing &amp; Digital Strategies, the Marketing Assistant will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in creating and executing destination marketing campaigns through tools such as Google Ads, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), posters, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Research local community organizations to build targeted email and lettermail address lists that expand our audience reach<\/li>\n<li>Assist in community outreach campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Write content marketing stories to highlight productions, actors, behind-the-scenes moments, and community engagement initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Research and curate historic documents and media coverage in support of Festival storytelling and archival projects<\/li>\n<li>Organize and execute patron and donor letter mailings throughout the summer, including membership renewals and donor thank-you letters<\/li>\n<li>Assist in website management, including updating words and images, analyzing site performance, and ensuring user-friendly navigation that supports ticket purchases<\/li>\n<li>Support additional marketing and communications tasks as assigned by the Director of Marketing &amp; Digital Strategies and other managerial staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHAT WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine passion for arts or destination marketing. Strong candidates will bring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must meet the requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs program (age 15-30, a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted\/conferred, and have a Social Insurance Number)<\/li>\n<li>Post-secondary education in marketing, theatre, history or a related field (in progress or completed)<\/li>\n<li>Writing and research skills<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interest in community building or events promotion \u2014 through academic work, personal projects, or volunteer experience<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable acting as the first point of contact for the brand, utilizing excellent phone etiquette to qualify leads and spark interest in our offerings<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, Meta Ads Manager<\/li>\n<li>Strong digital competencies, including secure data practices, experience with Google Workspace and an understanding of file naming standards and folder hierarchies<\/li>\n<li>A collaborative, team-oriented approach suited to a small, grassroots organizational culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DATES:<\/strong> May 25, 2026 \u2013 July 19, 2026 (8 weeks; start date may be flexible)<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORK LOCATION:<\/strong> Blyth Festival is located in Blyth, ON. Remote work is possible. Some on-site, in-person time will be required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHEDULE:<\/strong> Primarily Monday \u2013 Friday.
