Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will play an important role in the strategic planning process for all TVO brands by contributing to the development of brand marketing strategies, seasonal campaigns, external brand partnerships, and initiatives that align with business objectives, audience insights, and overall brand direction for a portfolio of TVO products and services related to a mix of our current affairs, digital learning, kids programming, and philanthropic offerings.

How you will make an impact

  • Manage and inspire a team, ensuring functionality, productivity, and development.
  • Manage and contribute to the development of annual marketing calendar including the development of specific marketing campaigns and external brand partnerships and associated success metrics/KPIs to achieve organizational and departmental goals, from the initial opportunity assessment to the briefing stage, collaborating with, guiding, and influencing cross-functional team members to ensure buy-in and timely delivery.
  • Develops creative and media briefs that accurately capture the insight and strategic messaging intent of marketing projects, leveraging past performance and insight-informed audience trends.
  • Inspires, critically reviews, guides, and collaborates with internal and external creative resources to deliver on-brand seasonal & evergreen strategies that deliver against brief and strengthen the TVO brand and its portfolio of products.
  • Contributes to the translation of the marketing plans to TVO websites and social and digital channels, in collaboration with the Audience Development, Digital Channel Optimization, Creative Services, and Web Production teams to drive brand awareness, traffic, and audience & donor acquisition/retention, tapping into market opportunities and trends.
  • Liaises with cross-functional teams including Programming & Content, Digital Learning, Product Management, and others as appropriate to align strategic planning processes, timelines, and overall best practices.
  • Working in partnership with the greater marketing team and the data & analytics team to develop tracking and analytics reports that lead to stronger stakeholder understanding of marketing program results/lead generation efforts and actionable improvements to ongoing marketing programs.
  • Working with the marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistency and integrity of brand and messaging standards in all marketing materials.
  • Ongoing management and reporting of budgets
  • Managing agency and creative status updates

What you will bring to TVO

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in marketing & brand management (or similar).
  • Extensive experience in developing, delivering, evolving, and measuring omni-channel marketing and PR plans that achieve organization, brand, and product objectives.
  • Experience managing, developing, and inspiring a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively guide internal and external creative and media teams and stakeholder clients – with proven success in fostering a true partnership and alignment to achieve results.
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder– able to easily develop productive cross-functional relationships, build consensus, manage a room, and command respect from all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with SEM, SEO, email campaigns, CRM and social efforts, including recommendation and implementation of A/B testing.
  • Strong experience optimizing marketing activities based on analytics and post-campaign results.
  • Required proficiency in digital marketing; you are “socially connected” & savvy about trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the big picture and provide actionable results to solve organizational needs.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and juggle multiple deadlines and priorities with attention to detail and a roll-up-your-sleeves, results-driven, can-do attitude.
