The Opportunity

Through demonstration of strong leadership skills, project management competencies, and a growth mindset, the Director, Corporate Services and Projects will play an instrumental role in CPL’s efforts to grow and innovate in order to meet the evolving needs of a quickly growing Caledon.

Reporting directly to the CEO/Chief Librarian you are responsible for providing strategic leadership in the area of innovative service development and to ensure that the library meets and exceeds established customer service objectives as defined in the strategic plan. You will be tasked with the system-wide coordination of budgets, human resources management, fund development, procurement, and capital improvements.Direct reports include the Library’s Manager, Information Technology and Manager, Communications and Community Development.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with of a post-graduate degree in Library and Information Studies/Science (MLIS/MI), Business Administration (MBA) or Public Administration (MPA), or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification would be considered an asset.

Our ideal candidate has a minimum 7 years of related experience in finance, human resources and/or project management with a minimum of 4 years at the supervisory level, preferably in a public library or municipal government setting. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in fund development and grant management. We are seeking an individual with superior team building skills, a demonstrated ability to lead change, and excellent communication skills.

This position offers a salary range of $103,193.01 – $126,464.06 plus a competitive benefit package and a hybrid work schedule with three days onsite and two days remote per week.

Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.

New employees who commence employment on or after November 15, 2021 are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as a condition of employment. Being fully vaccinated is determined as the status of having received the full series of approved vaccines (both doses of a two dose vaccine series, one dose of a single dose vaccine series) and any additional doses required and approved by Health Canada and having satisfied the full post vaccination period required to ensure vaccination efficacy. The Town of Caledon reserves the right to request proof of vaccination at any time. Acceptable proof includes an Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 vaccine receipt which you can obtain through the Provincial portal, or other government-issued vaccine passport or certification. The requirement to be fully vaccinated is subject to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
