The Communications department provides a range of communications advice, counsel and support to the enterprise for a variety of internal and external audiences across various mediums. The team performs tasks ranging from crafting timely and relevant communications, to working with the media, traditional and social influencers, customers/consumers and business partners to ensure balanced, factual coverage of TD Bank Group. Job Description

The Colleague Engagement team, within the broader TD Insurance Strategy, Customer and Colleague Experience team, is accountable for designing, implementing and overseeing the Legendary colleague engagement strategy for TD Insurance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Colleague Engagement, the Communication Specialist is responsible for the execution of various communication strategies within TD Insurance. The successful candidate will work with senior managers, executives, business partners and subject matter experts. The position requires a self-starter with strong technical communication skills, time management skills and commitment to quality and accuracy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proactive internal communications support on key strategic business initiatives and events
  • Contribute to the development of communications standards, best practice guidelines and communication plan protocols for TD Insurance
  • Curate and manage the editorial calendars for #YouSpeak colleague blogs, executive Leadership Conversation blogs, TDI Newsletters and intranet banners
  • Copy editor for communications scheduled for publishing ensuring the use of clear language relevant to the intended audience and the message aligns the TD Insurance Mission, TD Framework and Colleague Promise
  • Own the communication distribution list management and work closely with HR partners to accurately manage the monthly process
  • Provide administrative oversight on colleague listening forums such as the AskUs Calls i.e. minutes, tracking, analysis
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication channels and develop data driven recommendations to improve outcomes
  • Leverage both traditional and emerging communications vehicles, including Connections to drive colleague empowerment and engagement around internal communications
  • Provide direction and education to partners on communication standards, best practice and protocols
  • Work closely with key business partners, HR and Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) to align internal communication activities and project deliverables

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for Colleague and Customer Experience excellence
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate communications or consulting environment executing high impact communication strategies
  • Strong writer with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking abilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners to provide internal communication counsel to stakeholders of various levels and deliver on end-to-end communication initiatives
  • Resourceful with the ability to work independently but also collaboratively with a variety of individuals at different levels and from different business areas/functions, ability to influence and deliver results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and deliver on competing initiatives under tight timelines while staying resilient and positive under pressure
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance changing requirements and priorities
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree with a specialty in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or related discipline
