The Opportunity

Our library is seeking a Manager of Technology and Collections to manage our Technical Services Department and to oversee our Library’s technology needs in collaboration with the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s IT Department. You will be part of our Library’s management team working together to improve library services to our local community.


Our Library is located in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie. With a staff of approximately 50 people (full and part-time), we serve a population of over 75,000. We have two locations. Our main location is the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library. Our second location is the North Branch. Our Library has a great relationship with the municipality and many strong ties within the community.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a passionate professional with a Master of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited university. We will also consider someone with a combination of education in a related IT field and experience working in a public library. You should have experience related to computer hardware/software support and working knowledge of implementation and maintenance of ILS software, hardware, networks and associated web based services. Some experience supervising and training staff is ideal, but we are willing to train the successful candidate if needed.
