Website New Westminster Public Library
The New Westminster Public Library is situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Halq’eméylem speaking peoples.
Founded in 1865, the New Westminster Public Library (the Library) is committed to providing accessible and responsive community services, that balance the needs of traditional library users with those seeking the tools and experiences of a modern, technologically relevant public space. The library provides dynamic and vibrant means for the community to continually grow, learn, and succeed.
The NWPL is made up of two branches (the Main Branch and the Queensborough Branch) and is supported by an incredible staff and Library Board. In 2017/2018, the Main Branch underwent an extensive renovation to ensure the building and services could better meet the changing needs of the community and remain a welcoming space for readers, learners, creators, and community members. During the renovation, the Library also launched a new web site, the iConnect Lab, and additional digital resources.
