The San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank has a fantastic opportunity for a Communications Specialist in our Strategy, People + Culture team. Our communications team collaborates closely to share our public service story more cohesively and with impact, both internally and to the wider world. We help the SF Fed be a more open and community-engaged Bank. In this role you will be responsible for program sustainment, sharing employee stories and just-in-time communications. You will support the Bank’s and Strategy, People + Culture (what we call Human Resources) group’s communication needs on operational and program sustainment efforts.

As the Communications Specialist, you will:

  • Update Strategy, People + Culture’s intranet communications, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and Employee Benefits groups’ program updates and communications.
  • Develop communications in support of the: Bank’s Inclusion and Diversity team, Employee Resource Groups, the Change + Transformation team initiatives, and Benefits program changes.
  • Research, develop, and edit content including blogs while meeting the needs of different audiences.
  • Assist in producing communication plans to support business-line projects and initiatives.
  • Evaluate communications activities and methods. Research, share and support the execution of improvement opportunities with management.
  • Integrate new technologies, as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of communications to various partners via different distribution channels.
  • Conduct regular assessment to identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Proofread and edit communication materials for grammar, clarity, style, and tone, ensuring messages are not only consistent but also meet audience demand.
  • Ad-hoc communication requests for the Bank and/or Strategy, People + Culture group.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, liberal arts, marketing, public relations, or journalism or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires two or more years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • Strong knowledge of communications best practices, including techniques and standards relevant to writing, editing, formatting, composing, and producing written and web materials.
  • The ability to deeply understand, empathize with, and reach different audiences.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Web Publishing tools.
  • Strong writer and editor with knowledge of APA writing style.

Helpful:

  • Industry certifications in corporate communications, public relations, and marketing.
  • Experience working with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Experience writing for I&D topics, and behavioral change marketing techniques.
  • Experience with video editing and/or PoliteMail.
