About the Role:

Corus Radio is looking for a Digital Content Coordinator in Calgary. Reporting to the Program Director, you will be responsible for amplifying the best of Corus Radio’s content on social media, increasing audience engagement and upholding Global News/Corus Entertainment standards and best practices. You will work with a social media strategist, on-air hosts, and promotions teams to create and curate digital content and position it for Corus Radio’s ever-growing social media audience.

You will contribute by:

  • Create and curate digital content and position it for various social media platforms, aligning them with the Digital Strategy Manager to SEO best practices.
  • Maintain the brand vision and voice across all platforms in both visual and copy storytelling.
  • Strengthen audience engagement by posting, monitoring, and responding to comments, messages and other feedback from users to maintain brand integrity and bolster engagement.
  • Craft social media copy, content calendars and collaborate to create visual content (photography, blog posts, gifs, photo collages, video, live Streams, etc.)
  • Analyze data in real-time to ensure that we are meeting KPIs.
  • Work with announcers to capture on-air and behind-the-scenes content, viral stories and leverage great on-air content to bring the social audience to on-air as well as online.
  • Available to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in journalism, broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Familiar with online publishing tools (e.g., WordPress) and proven ability working with Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc. for business and creating content optimized across all platforms.
  • Excellent shooting and editing skills using a DSLR camera and digital production equipment as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Knowledge of After Effects, Audition and Illustrator an asset)
  • Proven ability to grow a brand’s digital footprint with clear and actionable content strategy plans.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for all things radio — everything from music, the arts, pop culture, sports, as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media.
  • Understanding of how major organizations are employing a wide range of digital platforms and formats.
  • Ability to write and edit compelling copy optimized for different social media channels.
  • Strong expertise in, and passion for, social media.
  • Experience with Omny Studio or Headliner.
  • Experience in graphic design is considered an asset.
  • Occasional requirement to travel within Alberta.
  • The ability to approach your day to day with fun!
